The Aquarium's mission statement - creating experiences that inspire conservation of the San Francisco Bay and all marine environments - begins right here at home. We hope to inspire our guests to be more conservation-minded in their daily lives.

Although lovely to look at and home to an abundant array of creatures, the Bay and its watershed is in trouble. Our goal is for every visitor to the Aquarium to come away with new knowledge about the life dwelling within the Bay, as well as what can be done to help preserve it.

		Green Business Certification Aquarium of the Bay was certified as a Green Business in 2005 after being reviewed about our recycling practices, hazardous waste removal, and water and energy consumption/conservation.
		Conservation Events Aquarium of the Bay is dedicated to promoting sustainable, conservation-minded behavior.  Become involved in Aquarium of the Bay's local conservation efforts by participating in one of our annual conservation events.
