San Francisco Seafood Watch® Alliance
As a founding member of the San Francisco Seafood Watch® Alliance, Aquarium of the Bay is committed to educating our guests about sustainable seafood and the impact of personal choice. In mid-2009, Aquarium of the Bay, the California Academy of Sciences and San Francisco Zoo formed the Alliance aimed at raising local consumer, restaurateur and seafood industry awareness of the importance of acquiring seafood from sustainable sources. Working together, the organizations will provide regional support for the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch program.
When you go out to eat, we encourage you to vote for the oceans with your dollar, by visiting local Seafood Watch partner restaurants. These restaurants have taken a pledge to only serve items that are Seafood Watch approved.
Restaurants interested in learning more about the San Francisco Seafood Watch Alliance and how they can get involved should contact Crystal Sanders or Carrie Chen.
