Aquapalooza: Jellies!

Aquarium of the Bay is getting groovy with Aquapalooza: Jellies, so grab a drink and find your Zen during this adults-only after-hours party.
Discover the psychedelic side of science in the “Acid Lab,” and explore gastric gonads, immortal cnidarians, and more. Or go with the flow and get lost in the hypnotic lure of these mesmerizing creatures in the jellies gallery (who needs a lava lamp when you’ve got jelly tanks?).

Schedule of events:

7:30: Let’s Talk about (Jelly) Sex: We’ll explore the jelly life cycle, including the immortal cnidarian, gastric gonads, and the king of the clones.

8:00 & 8:30: Acid Lab: We’ll demonstrate ocean acidification by blowing water and looking at the cnidarian winners and losers of our changing ocean.

9:15: Bolus Dissection: Dig into some albatross poop, looking for evidence of plastic in their diet – something that happens when they mistake a plastic bag for a delicious jelly.
